process

Vanguard Laundry is a WISE (Work integrated Social Enterprise) not-for-profit laundry, opened in December 2016. Vanguard provides supported transitional employment opportunities (within the laundry business), for those who have faced various forms of social disadvantage and have therefore been locked out of the labour market.

Since opening Vanguard has employed over 100 people who have previously been unable to overcome barriers to employment within the Toowoomba Community, whilst facilitating more than 50 transitions to external employment. These are people who would have otherwise been excluded from the labour market and subject to incomes only provided from Government support such as Centrelink.
