The big wheels kept turning in October, with our team travelling 25,924 kilometres to ensure our customers have quality, clean linen to make their beds!
A number of those kilometres were travelled by 2 of our recently transitioned staff, who are now valued members of our drive team, including Jimmy (pictured below).
Two staff successfully transitioned into ongoing external employment in October. Thanks to our employment partners Homestyle Bake and Hydrostatic Services who made it possible to advance our mission of empowering beyond barriers. We’ve been able to hire two new staff in their place from backgrounds of long-term unemployment due to complex barriers.
We also participated in some great events with more to come on the calendar:
- QUTeX Professional and Executive Education facilitated a panel discussion on “Creating Meaningful Work and Inclusive Workplaces for People with Disability” in anticipation of the upcoming toolkit launch. Vanguard participated in the co-design and is excited for the launch of this great resource.
- Social Traders held their Convene “Business for Good” conference in Sydney, bringing together social enterprises, sector intermediaries, business and government. The future is bright!
